1969
Kenross Containers was founded in a small unit, supplying corrugated boxes for local businesses. With just a handful of people the business gradually outgrew its location to the point where a move was imminent.
1974
Kenross Containers takes up the recently vacated Kippax Mill which had historically been used by Goodshawfold Manufacturing.
1981
Kenross Extends the offices and warehouse to facilitate its growth and the inclusion of stock holding for customers. This period also sees KCL move more towards printed packaging and POS items.
1988
KCL invest in a new 2 colour casemaker and further extend goods inwards to cope with the growth of their converted cases work.
1994
KCL team visit Corrugated ‘94’ in Paris and further invest in a new flat bed die-cutter with a view to automating die-cut production. Moving away from hand stripped platen work.
1996
KCL installed its first corrugator. This major investment included the building of a separate unit to house the machine and an additional warehouse to provide storage for reel stocks.
2003
The Kenross team travelled to Taiwan to source a single facer for the corrugator but went a bit crazy and decided to buy a full brand-new corrugator!
2012
As KCL experienced more demand for die-cut glued work, the business invested in a multi-point gluer along with an additional flatbed die-cutter. This allowed KCL to remain competitive and capitalise on a new market.
2019
With the advent of ecommerce KCL took delivery of a Fidia self-adhesive taper. The machine creates a quick and secure seal for ecommerce brands. Allowing them to increase speed of packing and provide security for any returns by using two self-adhesive tapes.
2021
As the unboxing experience became ever more popular KCL took delivery of a brand-new rotary die-cutter with inside/outside print capabilities. Not only does this machine offer a significantly higher print quality but it also die-cuts and prints in one operation.
